We now have in stock an awesome guitar DVD produced by local Mason City guitarist Scott Wistrick. The title is “Shred Session BIO Close Up And Jammin” It contains 41 minutes of total Heavy Metal Shred guitar instruction. Scott has been a personal friend of mine for many years and I don’t know of a better Metal teacher/player for miles around. I have for sale this dvd as well as his new CD’s.

On Wednesday evening October 15th I had the pleasure of hearing the great modern finger-style guitarist Doyle Dykes, www.doyledykes.com. Doyle was performing at Bobs Guitars in Cedar Falls as a clinician for Taylor guitars. This was far better than any clinic however: it was 2 pleasing hours of solo guitar playing, ranging in styles from blues to gospel to patriotic and then some. I honestly listened intently for 2 hours and never got bored. Doyle also had his daughter, who plays mandolin, with him and together they did an excellent gospel and praise segment. I was really inspired to practice my guitar especially after hearing Doyle. What a treat!!
